I don't know how much better life gets than finding out you're having another grandbaby and getting your first calf all in the same weekend. Wahoo.
Looks like there's a good chance I might get to see the calf next week but I suppose Nance will be hoarding the grandbaby for awhile.
It appears that Mom and I will be headed for Salt Lake Monday evening after work. There is a chance something might change before then but barring that she will be in jury selection Tuesday morning. She is terribly afraid she might get chosen to stay and the whole process unnerves her. If that does happen we will probably be begging Kerry & Allie for help. We won't know anything for sure until Monday.

Just to let everyone know, namely Kerry and Ali -- our news is out! We told everyone last weekend. Yea for baby #3! I'm hoping to get to the doctor next week. I'll let you know how it goes.
P.S. - Kerry and Ali, your adoption profile is great! I don't know how anyone could check it out and not be interested. You guys are so awesome.

Isn't that the cutest calf ever? She really is! I bet Uncle Danny will think she's the cutest one he's ever had and that she'll be his very favorite one!
Thanks for coming this weekend - it was fun!! And thanks to all for singing in the choir. Blessings upon your heads!
How was the substituting, Pam? Let us know how the new jobs are!
So I am majorly tedious today! I received notice that I have to appear at 7:40 a.m. next week on Tuesday for jury duty in Salt Lake City! Good grief! I am way not happy about this! There's a chance the case will settle out of court (keep your fingers crossed!) and that I won't have to go but I won't know until Monday evening. For Pete's sake, who even really knows where Blanding is, let alone that there are enough people here to spare one to go to jury duty. Holy cow!

The mighty Bayles herd has doubled! It is a heifer calf.

So when we got back we found one of the cows had calved twins and wasnt mothering one of them. When I got in the pen to work with her she promtly chased me back out. She has gone CRAZY. But we still needed colostrum for the calf, so we deciced to pick on charolete. I tell you what, that is one nice cow! Once we got her tied up she hardly budged while I milked her. Good call on keeping her!

We are having fun! Stay tuned for further details!
P.S. I read a book by Bruce Lindsay (the tv news anchor) called Hometown Weekly and thoroughly enjoyed it! I'd recommend it to anyone to lighten their day!!
Pam is reading the Chronicles of Narnia -- wow! Don't think I'm going to take that on any time soon!
