I didn't realize at the time that I was taking a video instead of a picture (I sound like that old couple on youtube already), but I'm glad I did so you can see how he actually walked like a robot! It wasn't by choice but it added to the awesomeness of the costume (made by Josh)

Happy (very, very late) Halloween!

Halloween 2011

Well, here are the official pics! We had a blast carving pumpkins, going to halloween parties, and going trick-or-treating. Kate especially loved the pumpkins. I'm all sad that we didn't get a head-to-toe picture of her costume, though. She didn't like the hat, so the pictures we ended up with are only part of her instead of the whole effect, but you get the idea.

Paper Project, Couch, and Kate the Reader

Hey all,
I wanted to post the finished product of the project I worked on at Tom and Nancy's the other weekend, as well as a picture of our "new" couch from our neighbors. It's definitely nice not to have a futon as a front room couch anymore. And I couldn't resist posting this video of Kate reading the beginning of her current favorite story. It's called Polly's Pink Pajamas. Sorry that it's sideways. Maybe one day we'll learn that we have to take video the right way :)

hey everyone, I know this video is sideways so that's kind of annoying, but I really wanted to post this for everyone to get a good laugh!

I posted twice so make sure you see all ten pictures.

The kids "helping" Tom with the hay.

I hosted a Princess Tea Party a little while ago. The girls came dressed up and were named after flowers. I was Queen Lily and TayTay was Princess Daisy. We ate and then played "Plant the Kiss on the Frog." We had a good time.

Isn't she cute?

This is just because I felt like teasing Tom. What a hunk!

Kaden and Tay like to make masks every once in a while and she and I made some while Kaden was down in Blanding playing at Granna and Grandad's. I think they are hilarious!

Just for Fun

Happy Birthday, Gatlin!

Who knew Mater lived in Monticello?! Apparently he came for the parade and now he is the town greeter. We were thrilled to get a picture with him!

Easter and Stump Removal

Hi all,
This is Ali. I was just so excited about Easter pics that I wanted to share. We also had all the stumps either taken out or ground down this weekend, so we have a few pictures of that as well. Don't worry, we didn't do it on our own! We had a leisurely weekend together while someone else was sweating (and probably swearing a little) over the stump removal. Kate got more into the Easter egg hunting that we expected. Mostly she was excited when she realized that there was candy in the eggs, so she opened them there and sat down and ate the m&m's.

Update

So Tom had an interview for the position at the power plant today. Yea! He came home from the interview very pleased and feels like it went really well. They said they would let him know either way by the end of next week. Pray for us!

The Y Ball

Say hello to the new King & Queen of the Y Ball! Not really, but that's definitely how we felt. The Y Ball is a free event the university holds every year for married and engaged students and we highly recommend it. It was fabulous!

Held at the beautiful Hinckley Alumni Center, it's a sure recipe for romance. We started the night off with pictures, followed by dancing, dessert, and a lovely red rose. We then took a short tour of Provo, along with several other couples, in the back of a limo! It was a magic-filled evening and even converted Brandon to the virtues of swing dancing. Although it was the weekend before, it was definitely an unforgettable Valentines date.
